Prerelease 1 video of ADOM 1.2.0
I just posted a new update to the ADOM crowd funding campaign which contains a short video with a very first glimpse of a (yet unfinished) prerelease 1 of ADOM 1.2.0. We intend to do one release of the current state of development within the next seven days (keep your thumbs pressed!) in order to raise more awareness for the campaign. So soon there actually will be a new ADOM release after almost 10 years of silence. Please enjoy the (IMHO) wonderful intro theme composed by Lucas Dieguez for ADOM... it's not yet integrated into the game but we used it for the video. And enjoy my bumbling efforts of moving through the small cave ;-)

Playing on a laptop, eh? I'm excited about this :)
ReplyDeleteLOL, you are eagle-eyed ;-)
DeleteMan...how did you find a forge on the second level? And you're probably not even a weaponsmith.
ReplyDeleteFighter :-) And that's the luck of the creator ;-)
DeleteNext time you could move the cursor away from the screen. ;) Otherwise, good.
ReplyDeleteFunded!
ReplyDeleteSorry I couldn't give more. Not sure why the internet came up with 3mil for a new Monkey Island, but can't scrape together 50k for a new ADOM, considering how much more ime I've spent playing one than the other.
Looks great by the way!
P.S. What does "Press Your Thumbs" mean?
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it's the Deutsch version of "keep your fingers crossed", but I can't picture it. Do you press them together, or to a table, like "knock on wood"?
It is like "wishing someone good luck".
DeleteIt is just a saying, usually you don't actually see it. However if you try to communicate it nonverbal, you put your thumb in your palm and make a fist.
"Keep your fingers crossed".
DeleteDamn, that's it ;-)
Have polemarms be removed from the game?! What will I use when laying ADOM now?
ReplyDeleteNext drive: keep polemarms in the game! $3,000/day or they go away
Deleteoh god, I'm so excited.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the donations are decreasing dramatically. Maybe you should make a facebook ad. You know, probably many old fans would see and donate.
ReplyDeleteCongrats for making the magical 50%!
ReplyDeleteDear Thomas,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on making 50%! :D Fantastic to see the campaign going so well.
However, the campaign has also nearly reached the 30 day mark. I concur with Arkano in that I think you should try to explore as many avenues for publicity as possible. You owe it to yourself, the ADOM community, and most of all ADOM itself to give everything you've got to this campaign and really see it through. I wish you would also update the campaign and post on your blog every day, or every other day. Anything would be fine, for example a screenshot, or a poll for favorite race/class combinations in ADOM. Just something to stimulate discussion, activity and interest. Pledges have slowed to a crawl and you need to build up momentum again (I have already given all that I can%3B wish I could be the 50K donor!). We all want to see you succeed, in fact I hope you get far more than 48K so that ADOM can be developed for years to come - but I don't think that will happen unless you really push this. Go for it Thomas. Rooting for you!
